Harriet Cole Bowen wrote October 1932: “A family cemetery was located in the southeast part of Section 27, Palmyra township, on a farm now owned by W.T. VanFleet. It was on the bank of he Raisin river, south of the Fayette Branch of the N.Y. Central R.R., west side of highway. For fifty years there has been nothing visible of this place, the stones having been buried or carried down to the River to make a fishing platform.
Mrs. Clara Ranger Clark (Mrs. Wm. H.), dau. Of Amos Ranger, who was buried there, makes affidavit to the following statement:
“The land was given by Ransley Scovell, who then owned the farm as a family burial place. Ransley had a brother, Stephen, and sister, Mary.
